Welcome to our Church School

Nurture, flourish, succeed....A loving family of learners on a journey to be the best that we can be.

1 Corinthians 13:4a, love is patient, love is kind.

Bridgerule C of E Primary School is a village school made up of three classes and as of September 2019, a  Foundation Stage Unit offering provision for children from the age of 2 years up. The school has close links with the local community and church and we offer a warm welcome to any families who wish to join us.

On 1st September 2014 the school joined the Holsworthy Federation. This was a partnership with Bridgerule C of E Primary, Bradford Primary and Holsworthy Community College. On 1st January 2018 the school then became part of Dartmoor Multi Academy. Our Trust consists of 17 schools who have come together, based on a shared vision which encompasses the values of both the Cooperative movement and the Church of England. Bridgerule, Bradford, Black Torrington and Highampton Primary Schools now form the Ruby Hub Primary Schools.

Bridgerule is a  Church of England school set at the heart of our village community. Our Christian Values underpin all that we do and our 'loving family of learners' reflect on and talk about our values on a daily basis.

Our School Values

Co-operation     Respect   Achievement     Friendship    Trust

We have a lovely original Victorian building which has had a range of building work in recent years to create more teaching space and to accommodate our Foundation Stage Unit. The present accommodation comprises an entrance and reception area, administrator's office, library and resource area, four classrooms (one of which is a lovely mezzanine room), intervention space, kitchen, hall, staff room, toilets and storage areas. The hall is used for daily assemblies and acts of worship, as well as for lunch and physical activities. There is a well equipped outside play area for the children in the Foundation Stage which they access from their classroom.

Outside, steps lead up to the school playground and grassy play area, which looks out onto open fields and lovely views. There is fixed play equipment for the children to exercise on. The school also has access to the village playing field which is fantastic in the warmer months.
