Japanese Culture in Bridgerule

When walking through the village on your way to school, keep your eyes peeled for the Koinobori -Carp Windsocks which decorate the landscape of Japan from Spring Equinox  (March 21sin 2022)  through to early May, in honour of Children's Day on May 5th.

 

In Japanese culture, the carp symbolizes courage and strength because of its ability to swim up a waterfall.

 

Children's Day Festival is an event in Japan, expressing hope that each child in the family will grow up healthy and strong like wild carps.
