All the classes had a very interactive visit from Charlie, a performer from Story Explorer. His sessions were linked to our PSHE lessons: KS1 was focusing on what to do if you are worried about something and the KS2 workshops, were based around accepting difference, saying no to bullying and being kind. This all supports our school values: Cooperation, Respect, Achievement, Friendship and Trust.
Books are brilliant tools for tackling subjects such as bullying and wellbeing, while encouraging a positive and tolerant attitude among children. That’s why the learning was focused on two specially chosen books: Ruby’s Worry by Tom Percival and The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q. Rauf.
