Values and Ethos

‘Nurture, flourish, succeed…together’

Our school vision is inspired by Luke 10; 25-37, The Parable of the Good Samaritan,

in which Jesus teaches us to ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’.

At Bridgerule we are proudly inclusive. We believe that every person in our school community is connected to every other person and that in order for one of us to flourish we all must flourish. It is therefore everyone’s responsibility to foster and nurture a culture of respect, dignity and love in which we can all flourish on our journey through our school and beyond.

Our school Logo depicts the church standing firmly on a bridge and represents how the school and church work together in supporting our pupils, our families and the wider community.

As a school community we strive to flourish within our journey together by delighting in our learning, remaining steadfast in challenges and by trusting in the richness of our relationships with one another, with the wider world and beyond.

Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we also aim to actively promote British values (or Human Values) in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust was founded in January 2018, driven by a shared vision that unites the Co-operative values with the principles of our Church of England schools.
